Positive: Very good location 10min walk to the beach. Friendly staff. The room was clean and well designed. Negative: The sound insulation of the room is not very good.

Positive: Location was fine and felt safe. The best part of the stay was Alejandro, one of the front desk concierges. He was soooo helpful about the property and transportation, and knowledgeable about the Puerto Rican politics. The room was spacious for two people. It has an old 1960s Florida feel to it, though it's clearly a design choice, not a leftover. The hotel is right around the corner from the T3 bus line which gets you to the bottom of Viejo San Juan. Buses were free while we were there. On Avenida Miramar (right around the corner) there are plenty of restaurants, interesting shops, a supermercado for snacks and fruit, and some interesting institutions. Negative: There was some kind of pump over our room on the top floor. It made noise generally until after midnight and started up again early in the morning. It wasn't super annoying to us, but if you're a light sleeper it might be. Breakfast is minimal, and while we were there, there was no milk for coffee or the offered dried cereal (really a minor drawback). However, the Google map, which taxi drivers rely on, doesn't seem to match the actuality. Taxi drivers continually pulled up to the wrong street. The hotel is on Jose Ferrar, not Av. Miramar as advertised, which seemed to confuse the drivers.

Positive: decent selection of yogurts and cereals and bars. good coffee.

Positive: The location is excellent Negative: Pricing has increased, it used to be cheaper when it was a hotel.
